Project Overview: “Learning By XR” stands as my degree project, a milestone in my journey towards Software Engineering. Developed for an educational institution in Heredia, Costa Rica, this project aimed to revolutionize mathematics education through Augmented Reality (AR).

Objectives: The primary objective was to create an AR application that not only piqued students’ interest but also reinforced learning methodologies in mathematics. The project addressed the common challenge faced by students – the difficulty in understanding abstract mathematical concepts and visualizing them in a real-world context.

Innovative Approach: The innovation lay in the application of interactive exercises through AR. Recognizing that traditional methods often fall short in engaging students, Learning By XR offered an immersive and fun solution. By allowing students to apply mathematical variables in real-time and witness the tangible consequences, the project aimed to bridge the gap between theory and practical understanding.

Key Features:

  • Real-time Visualization: Students could observe the direct correlation between mathematical variables and their real-world consequences.
  • Immersive Environments: The AR application created captivating and interactive environments, transforming learning into an engaging experience.
  • Interactive Exercises: The project incorporated hands-on exercises, fostering active participation and deeper understanding.

Impact: Learning By XR minimized the challenges associated with abstract mathematical concepts, providing a dynamic tool for students to grasp complex ideas. The interactive nature of the application aimed to make learning enjoyable, creating an environment where students could thrive.
